About Me

Hello! My name is Jacqueline.

I grew up in the country, riding horses, fishing, walking on gravel roads, eating food from the garden, and drinking from the water hose. I met the person I was meant to spend my life with in 5th grade. We started dating our junior year and have been married for 24 years this June.

We have two boys (20 & 18) and our daughter is 16, almost 17.

I've worked multiple jobs simultaneously to make ends meet. I've tried business ventures that have kind of succeeded on a small scale or entirely failed, and I've learned from my mistakes. I was a stay at home mom for years due to the daycare costs for 3 kids. We had lots of time but we were paycheck-to-paycheck and losing money every month.

When I returned to the workforce. I worked at a warehouse and quickly transferred from working on the floor to the maintenance department. There, I worked my way up to management. To say I was hurting after work every day until I became a manager would be a vast understatement. But I enjoyed the work, my manager was awesome, and I had an amazing team.

Unfortunately, my husband and I wouldn't see each other four days out of the week, with a day here and there off together. We did have every 6th weekend off together. So there was that. I still have a lot of equipment photos.

When Grandma passed away, we discovered her agent didn't put down the beneficiary and Grandma didn't catch it. Guess who got the money? Not us. Her final expenses all came out of our pocket.

We eventually took Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University. We cleared our debt, except for two healthy debts. I started dumping into my 401k and investing in stocks. My husband and I both had group life and health insurance through our jobs. We were working on Retirement in the best way we knew how. But we were approaching our 40's and way behind.

We also made a few purchases for our retirement years, a couple empty lots near a lake and a bus. Converting the bus was a hobby my husband and I did together whenever we could get time. My dog Artimus would rather be on the bus than anywhere else in the world. Look at that smile.

Then life did that thing were it hits ya, first in the form of a blown engine and next in the form of an 8 point buck. We used our 3 month emergency fund and still found ourselves back in debt.  Life hit us again. My facility closed due to a merge and I was laid off. My severance got us back to where we were with debt and adjusting got us back to paycheck-to-paycheck status. We were good as long as nothing major happened. It was an opportunity to restructure for more time.

I picked up my camera and started taking photos again, a hobby from long ago. I want to travel and just enjoy that. If I could earn just a little from that, it would certainly help. I threw myself into it, and opened my online Photo Art Store. Every time I would start to get discouraged, something would happen or someone would say something to light my fire again and I knew I was on the right path. I did have several places reach out to me on linked-in with job offers. but it didn't matter. I knew instantly they were not right for me.  Besides I did have one requirement, I would not sacrifice any more time. I had to be able to work from home and adjust my schedule to work only when I wanted.

Then one day there was a message that had my full attention. I can't tell you anything specific about why that message pulled me in, but everything in me was urging me to reach back out to that person. I set up a meeting and learned about the Miliare Group, their mission, their vision, and I could tell that the person I was talking to was passionate about the good they were doing to help people. So I set up an interview for a few weeks later.

Unfortunately, something major did happen. My mom had a stroke. Her insurance for major medical and long term care are far from A-rated. Not only did they not approve any of our tries for rehab, but they also initially denied 8 of her days in the hospital. All of which were spent there because the hospital said she needed to go straight to rehab and were await insurance to give us a place that were in network. She had a great view of the sunset though.

I take care of her and all of her needs with my husband and daughter helping when they can. She is improving slowly, but I fear she will never be herself again.

As fate would have it, she came home the day before I was scheduled to have my interview with The Miliare Group. The interview left me feeling as if I'd been heard, that someone cared, and that someone was there to help me with all that I was struggling with, that there was hope. Not what you would expect from a job interview. Right?

With every fiber of my being, I knew I was in the right place. I knew it was going to be hard, that I was stepping out of my comfort zone, but The Miliarie Group's Mission to help people touched my heart and I wanted to be a part of that. Not only did I want to be a part of that, but I knew without a shadow of doubt, that my pull to answer that linked-in post was a much higher power at work.
